September 2022 Cars Sales Analysis - MPV YoY, MoM Change, 6-Month Trend | V3Cars

In this September 2022 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all MPVs in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all MPVs for the last 6 months will give you an idea about their 6-month sales trend.

MPV Segment September 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change

  • Among MPVs, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Eeco were the top 2 performers in September. The Eeco still stands at the top, with 12,500+ monthly dispatches in September 2022, while the Ertiga failed to make it into the 10k club in September.
  • The Eeco was also the top gainer with 62% YoY gains for the month of September. It is followed by Innova Crysta with 54% YoY gains.
  • The next best performers in the MPV segment were the Toyota Innova Crysta, Kia Carens and Renault Triber.
  • Among the losers were the XL6, Ertiga and Carnival with a decline in the range of 17% to 18%.
  • Mahindra have announced they have no plans to discontinue the Marazzo MPV. They have clarified the low production numbers in the recent months have been because they have prioritized the production of Thar, Scorpio and XUV700’s pending orders.

MPV Segment September 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change

  • In terms of MoM change, MPV sales grew across the board. The only exceptions were the Toyota Vellfire and Kia Carens, which saw a decline of 58% and 6%, respectively.
  • The XL6 was the biggest gainer in the month of September 2022, with a 26% growth, followed by Carnival with a near 22% growth.
