Bollywood Actor Saurabh Shukla Buys An Audi Q5 | V3Cars
Celebrity bollywood actor Saurabh Shukla buys an Audi Q5 SUV. Saurabh Shukla has worked in supporting roles in a long list of memorable and iconic movies.
Some of the hit and memorable classics in which Saurabh left an impression are Satya, Taal and Mohabbatein.
- Satya (1998): Satya is a classic drama movie released in 1998, which was directed by Ramgopal Verma (RGV). And guess who wrote the script! Saurabh Shukla. This movie practically started the genre for movies showcasing gangsters’ off-the-job life such as Vaastav, Company, Sarkar, D, Shootout At Lokhandwala and Once Upon A Time In Mumbai. The underworld crime and gangster movies trend lasted for about a full decade in bollywood. With a miniscule budget of just Rs. 2.50 crore and a bunch of nobodies (at the time), it generated a box office return of Rs. 15.0 crore, which is a 6-fold ROI. All from word-of-mouth publicity.
- Taal (1999): In this Subhash Ghai-directed musical love story, Shukla only played a supporting role. This was the first bollywood film to be insured and it took Rs. 11.0 crore to make. Thankfully for the insurance company, they didn’t have to make the claim as the movie brought in Rs. 55.0 crore — a 5-fold ROI.
- Mohabbatein (2000): This star-studded movie churned almost a 7-fold ROI. Here too, Shukla played a supporting role.
Besides these, Shukla has also played a part in some movies highlighting some core social issues. Such movies in Saurabh’s filmography include Slumdog Millionaire, Jolly LLB, Ujda Chaman, Bala, PK and Nayak.
- Nayak (2001): This movie surely sparked the spirit of journalism in many aspirants at the time. While this classic raised some serious questions around the service part of “public service”, it failed to light up the box office and barely recovered the initial investment.
- Slumdog Millionaire (2008): In this Anil Kapoor and Irrfan Khan starrer movie, which won 8 Academy Awards, Shukla played a supporting role. Just like Nayak, this one is another oddball in Shukla’s career in terms of movie’s return on investment. This movie had a box office collection, which was 25 times the production cost.
- Jolly LLB (2013): This movie’s returns were also respectable at ~5x the production cost. It highlights the flaws in our legal system, which far too often ends up lenient on the rich and tough on the poor. Here too, Saurabh plays a supporting actor’s role.
- PK (2014): Unlike some of the comedy movies Shukla picks, in this Amir Khan starrer movie, he played the role of the lead antagonist, Tapasvi Maharaj. You may not even have realised that sitting relaxed on the throne is the same person playing the role of the father of a young gentleman suffering from male-pattern baldness in the movie Bala. This film generated more than a 6x return on the initial production cost of Rs. 122.0 crore.
- Bala (2019): Bala is a 2019 movie underlining the concern that our society pays too much attention towards the looks rather than giving importance to the character of a person. It had Ayushmann Khurrana starring in the lead role while Saurabh Shukla played his father in the movie. This movie raked in a 6-fold return on the initial estimated investment of Rs. 25.0 crore.
Audi Q5
Saurabh Shukla’s preference in the luxury SUV is the middle-of-the-road Q5, which, in many ways, is a superior choice over the smaller Q3 and the larger Q7. The Q3 is designed for people who drive themselves and want a compact car, which is easier to drive in the city traffic. The Q7 is too big with luxurious appointments for the rear seat occupants. It’s a popular choice among chauffeur-driven buyers who want the luxury of a top-class sedan with the practicality of an SUV.
The Q5 offers the perfect balance between these two customer preferences. It’s not only spacious enough for chauffeur-driven customers but also offers an engaging driving experience when you want to drive the car yourself. As you can see, Saurabh Shukla takes up the driver’s seat during the delivery, which shows that he intends to also drive the car during the ownership.
