In this Q4 2022 body-wise quarterly cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the car sales of body-wise for the previous year. We’ll also compare the YoY and QoQ change to find out which body-wise cars’ sales improved and which ones declined.

Q4 2022 - Body Wise Quarterly Car Sales Figures - YoY Change

Sedans witnessed the biggest YoY growth of roughly 56% in Q4 2022 compared to Q4 2021.
The SUV was the best-selling body style in India. Over 4,10,000 SUVs from various segments were sold in Q4 of 2022, compared to the 3,10,000 SUVs in Q4 2021, meaning, over 1 lakh more SUVs were sold in 2022, which is a growth of 32%.
SUVs were followed by hatchbacks, which reported an 11.6% growth in sales in Q4 2022 compared to Q4 2021.
All body styles saw a growth in quarterly sales in 2022 compared to 2021.

Most body types suffered a decline in numbers in Q4 compared to Q3
MPVs were the biggest losers with a 16.5% decrease in sales
MPVs were followed by hatchbacks in decrease rate with 15% drop in dispatches in Q4 compared to Q3
Pickups, on the contrary, reported a 387% growth, but they were are very limited in terms of volume
Sedans reported a growth of near 6% in QoQ comparison analysis for Q4 2022
