Next-Gen Hyundai Verna To Get 6 Airbags As Standard | V3Cars
In a recent communication, Hyundai confirmed that their next-generation Verna will get 6 airbags as standard equipment. This makes the Verna 2023 the only car in its segment of sedans to offer this feature as standard. Currently, the Honda City offers 4 airbags in its base variant as standard. Besides the 2 front airbags, the City’s base SV variant offers 2 front side thorax airbags. The 2023 Verna’s base model beats this with the addition of 2 curtain airbags for a total count of 6 airbags as standard.

V3’s Insight - 6 airbags As Standard With Verna 2023
Offering 6 airbags as standard suggests that Hyundai are planning to position their new Verna as a premium product in the segment. This is not unusual and something we’ve seen them do for a decade.
Since we learned that the City will offer a bunch of ADAS features in its affordable V petrol-manual variant, we were expecting Hyundai to price the new Verna aggressively to retaliate against the City’s dominance. So, we expected the Verna’s ex-showroom price to start at just under Rs. 10.0 lakh for the base variant. But with this move, the Verna could easily stand out while offering a unique value proposition without diluting the brand with the tag of being the most affordable car among new-generation C-segment sedans.

Insights Into 2023 Hyundai Verna’s Expected Starting Price
With this information about Hyundai’s strategy for the 2023 Verna, I’d say that their upcoming sedan could very well have a starting price between Rs. 11.0 and Rs. 12.0 lakh. I’ll present my detailed hypothesis and logic with the expected prices for all of its variants once we have the variant-wise feature breakdown of the new Verna. For now, I’m sure that the base model of the new Hyundai Verna will not cost less than Rs. 10.0 lakh (ex-showroom).
