2024 Windsor EV Helps JSW MG Motor India Achieve Highest Ever Monthly Sales In Oct 2024 | V3Cars

JSW MG Motor India’s latest offering for India, the Windsor EV, recorded a sales figure of 3,116 units in its first month of sales in October 2024. MG claim Windsor EV sales accounted for nearly 30% of all passenger electric car sales in October. However, what’s even more significant is the fact that MG sold more EVs (ZS EV, Windsor, Comet) in October 2024 than the total monthly sales of electric vehicles and ICE models combined for any given month since October 2023 and later!

JSW MG Motor India Records Highest Ever Sales In October 2024

MG Motor India achieved a total sales figure of 7,045 units in October 2024, their highest-ever sales in a single month. The introduction of the Windsor EV coupled with the festive season buying spree helped the brand achieve a growth of 31% year-on-year. For reference, MG Motor India sold 5,108 units in October 2023.

In terms of month-on-month sales, the brand grew by 53.55% over September 2024, where they sold a total of 4,588 units. MG say their focus on new energy vehicles (NEV) is yielding encouraging results, with its EV portfolio contributing 70% of the total sales in October 2024.

The Windsor EV, which was launched in September 2024, received over 15,000 bookings within 24 hours of opening the order books. MG’s unique Battery as a Service (BaaS) rental program helped lower the acquisition cost of the Windsor EV with the battery offered as monthly rental. Weeks later, MG introduced the BaaS program for their other EVs – Comet and ZS EV – as well. Although MG are yet to reveal the exact number of customers who opted for BaaS or purchased an EV outright in October, we are confident the BaaS program contributed significantly to MG’s record sales figures in the last month.

MG Windsor EV Specifications

The MG Windsor EV 2024 is only available with a 38kWh battery pack. MG claim the Windsor EV offers a range of 331km per charge.

All variants of the Windsor EV come with a 3.3kW portable charging cable. As standard, the Excite and Exclusive variants come with a 3.3kW AC home charging box while the top Essence variant comes with a 7.4kW AC fast charger. Buyers of the Excite and Exclusive variants can get the faster charging box at an additional cost.
