Maserati has unveiled the Levante Hybrid. It is the second hybrid model from the Italian supercar maker after the Ghibli Hybrid which went on sale in India in February 2021.

The Levante Hybrid is powered by the same 2.0-litre petrol engine that works with a 48V mild-hybrid system for a net output of 330PS and 450Nm. It is the same engine that is found on the Ghibli Hybrid producing identical power and torque. Transmission duties are taken care of by an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox. Maserati claims that the Levante Hybrid can go from 0-100kmph in 6 seconds and has a top speed of more than 240kmph.

Maserati claims that the Levante Hybrid is not only greener than the Levante diesel but is faster as well. It also weighs less than the six-cylinder engine equivalents of both diesel and petrol. Maserati claims that the Levante Hybrid also has a better weight distribution as the batteries are placed in the rear, making the car more agile and fun to drive.

In terms of design, the Levante Hybrid will get some minor updates to highlight its eco-friendly character. It will be offered in a new Azzurro Astro exterior colour. Other unique design elements include a blue colour finish on the signature three-side air ducts, brake callipers and the C-pillar logo. On the inside, a similar blue colour can be seen on the embroidered seams of the seats.

Production of the Levante Hybrid for the Europe and USA will begin in June followed by the production for China and the Asia-Pacific region a month later. It is expected to go on sale in India along with the global market which is expected to happen soon after the production begins. Meanwhile, Maserati has already started accepting bookings for its flagship supercar, the MC20, in India. The MC20 made its global debut back in 2020.
