March 2023 Cars Sales Analysis - C-Segment SUV YoY, MoM Change, 6-Month Trend | V3Cars

In this March 2023 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all C-segment SUVs in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all C-segment SUVs for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.

C-Segment SUV March 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change

Among the high-volume cars from the category, the Creta was the top-selling SUV in the segment in March. Over 14,000 units of the Creta were sold in March 2023 compared to just over 10,500 units in March 2022, which is a growth of 33.18% and was the highest gainer in the segment.
MG ZS EV reported over 80% YoY growth.
Rest all other cars reported a declining trend in YoY comparison in March. The top-losing car was Jeep Compass with a 69% drop in YoY comparison.
Next in line in the top list of losers was the MG Astor, with a 32.78% YoY drop.
Zero units of the Hyundai Kona were dispatched in March 2023.
Nissan Kicks and Maruti S-Cross have been discontinued by their respective manufacturers in the past 12 months.

C-Segment SUV March 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change

Only 2 cars out of 9 reported a decline in MoM comparison in the March comparison analysis.
Kia Seltos was the biggest MoM loser, with an 18% decline in sales over February 2023.
The other loser was Jeep Compass with a 2.71% decline.
On the contrary, MG Astor was the top gainer with a 48.14% MoM growth in March. Astor was followed by Hyundai Creta with a 34.59% MoM growth, Skoda Kushaq with a 26.30% MoM growth.
