Land Rover Defender 130 Breaks Cover | V3Cars

Land Rover have expanded the Defender range with the unveil of the new Defender 130. The Defender 130 is longer than the 110 and can seat 8 people in comfort. Land Rover have removed the middle jump seat option for the front row and offers the Defender 130 with a 2+3+3 seating layout. Buyers can also opt for the Defender 130 5-seater which offers a boot space of 1,329 litres. The design of the Defender 130 remains identical to the 90 and 110 models.

The Defender 130 retains the semi-circular LED DRLs and squared-off LED taillights. It also gets a longer rear overhang (340mm) to accommodate the extra seats and offer better luggage space. Land Rover have also redesigned the rear profile to keep the departure angle of 28.5 degrees intact. The top-spec Defender 130 gets matrix LED headlights and 20-inch alloy wheels.

Defender 130

On the inside, the Defender 130 remains identical to the rest of the Defender range. The centre of the dashboard gets an 11.4-inch Pivi Pro infotainment system. Other features include a digital driver’s display, 4-spoke steering wheel, digital inside rearview mirror (IRVM), panoramic sunroof, safari windows, adaptive air suspension and 4-zone climate control.

Land Rover offer the Defender 130 with a choice of 3.0L straight-six turbo petrol and diesel engine options. The 3.0L straight-six turbo petrol engine comes in two states of tune — 300PS with 470Nm of torque and 400PS with 550Nm of torque. The 3.0L straight-six turbo-diesel also comes in two states of tune — 250PS with 600Nm of torque and 300PS with 650Nm of torque. Both the petrol and diesel engine options come with a mild-hybrid setup and an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission as standard.

The Defender 130 is priced from £73,895 (Rs. 72.37 lakh) in the UK. We expect Land Rover India to open bookings and announce the prices of the Defender 130 soon.
