Kia EV6 Electric Crossover India Launch Likely In June | V3Cars

Kia India are likely to launch the EV6 electric crossover in June 2022. When launched, the EV6 could become the first product to be launched under Hyundai and Kia’s EV plans for the country. As part of this plan, both Hyundai and Kia plan to launch made-in-India EVs as well.

Kia unveiled the EV6 in global markets last year. It is the first Kia to sit on the brand’s e-GMP modular platform. The same platform also underpins the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which is also India bound this year. The Kia EV6 boasts a crossover design with a hunkered-down front profile. Talking about its dimensions, the EV6 measures 4,680mm in length, 1,880mm in width, 1,550mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,900mm. Kia EV6

In global markets, the Kia EV6 is available in three configurations. The base configuration gets a 58kWh battery pack and a single motor at the rear. The other two configurations use a 77.4kWh battery pack. These long range variants are capable of offering a range of up to 527km on a single charge. The Kia EV6 with the larger battery pack can be had in rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive versions. The former produces 229PS of power while the latter puts out 325PS. On the features front, the EV6 offers a 12-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, head-up display, 14-speaker Meridian sound system, lane follow assist, and auto emergency braking. The Kia EV6 will sit below luxury electric SUVs in the market, such as the Mercedes-EQ EQC, Jaguar I-Pace, Audi e-tron, and the BMW iX.
