Kia Carens Facelift Spotted With EV5 Inspired Design | V3Cars
The Kia Carens, which was launched in India in February 2022, is set to receive a facelift soon. Test mules of the Carens facelift were spotted testing recently and the latest spy shots give us a clear glimpse of the MPV’s updated design and exterior features.
2025 Kia Carens Facelift Spied Ahead Of Launch
Ever since its market introduction in 2022, the Kia Carens received updates in terms of features and new variants. With an average sales figure of just under 5,000 units in the past 6 months, the Carens has cemented its place as a worthy alternative to the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and XL6, Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, and the MG Hector Plus. While the Hector Plus and Safari have received a facelift in the last couple of years, the Carens and Alcazar are set to get a facelift soon.
The latest spy images of the Carens facelift have revealed design details such as the new LED headlamps and tail lamps with a connecting light bar. Clearly, the new Carens takes its design inspiration from the recently revealed Kia EV5 electric SUV.
Up front, the Carens facelift features triangular headlamp housings with LED projector units. The headlamp housings are connected to the LED DRLs, which sit at either edge of the bonnet, and the LED DRLs are further connected by a slim LED light strip. While the test mule is wrapped in camouflage, the spy shots hint at larger air dams surrounded by a faux skid plate.
At the rear, the Kia MPV gets new LED connected taillamps with graphics inspired by the larger EV9 electric SUV. The tailgate and rear bumper are likely to get design updates as well. Around the side, we expect Kia to offer a new design for the alloy wheels.
2025 Kia Carens Facelift – Expected Feature Additions
The latest Carens facelift spy shots show an interior covered in black upholstery in contrast to the beige upholstery offered in most variants of the current MPV. In terms of feature additions, the Carens facelift could offer a host of advanced driver assistance systems like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, automatic high beam assist, and much more.
We expect Kia to revamp the dashboard layout with twin connected 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment system and digital driver’s display. The air con vents and controls are likely to get an update as well. The spy shots reveal a single-pane sunroof, however, we wouldn’t be surprised if Kia offer a panoramic sunroof in the top variant of the Carens facelift. As for the seating layout, Kia are likely to retain the 6- and 7-seater configuration in the Carens facelift.

2025 Kia Carens Facelift – Expected Powertrain Specs
The Kia Carens facelift is expected to retain the same engine and transmission options as the current version of the MPV. Kia offer the 2024 Carens with a 1.5L normal petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol and a 1.5L diesel engine with various transmission options:

The Kia Carens normal petrol is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission, while the turbo petrol variants get 2 transmission options – a 6-speed auto-clutch manual transmission (ACMT) and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). The Carens diesel is available with a 6-speed ACMT and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission (TC).
2025 Kia Carens Expected Prices
The Kia Carens facelift is expected to cost slightly more than the current MPV. However, we do not expect the prices to increase by a substantial amount as the current Carens is considered as a value-for-money proposition in the MPV segment. Currently, the Kia Carens is priced from Rs. 10.52 lakh to Rs. 19.67 lakh (ex-showroom).
