July 2022 Cars Sales Analysis - Overall Snapshot With YoY, MoM Change | V3Cars

In this July 2022 detailed car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures for each car and the YoY, MoM change each car witnessed in the same month.

We’ll also include last 6 month sales to give you an idea about the 6-month trend of each car on sale in India and share our observations.

Excluding the low-volume Kona Electric from Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki’s Celerio hatchback witnessed a gain of over 3,42,600% in YoY comparison and beat all other available models by a huge margin in terms of overall sales increase. However, it is worth noting that this huge YoY gain is because only 2 units of Celerio were sold in July 2021, which is way too less for a mass market car like the Celerio
The Tata Tigor, a B2 segment sedan, was the second largest gainer in terms of YoY percentage, with a 232% increase in sales
The Hyundai Santro’s performance has consistently been poor over the past couple months and it witnessed an almost 100% decline in dispatches in July 2022 YoY.
The Indian car market saw many discontinuations in the past year, such as the Datsun Redi-Go and Mahindra KUV100, which was last seen at dealership floors in March 2022.
In the last 6-9 months, we’ve witnessed a lot of action in the Indian auto industry with a bunch of new car launches, generation updates and mid-life refreshes.
