Here are the segment-best features of the 2022 Meridian:

  • Smallest turning radius in the segment of 5.7m. The smaller the radius, the less area the car will need to take a turn, resulting in better manoeuvrability.

Jeep India have measured these numbers against two undisclosed rivals of the Meridian. Speaking of rivals, the Meridian goes up against the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq, Hyundai Tucson and the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace.

Unlike the Skoda Kodiaq and the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, the Meridian doesn’t get a petrol engine in the Indian market. Powering the Meridian is the Compass’ 2.0L turbo diesel engine. It produces the same 170PS of power at 3750rpm and 350Nm of torque between 1500rpm and 4500rpm. The diesel engine can be had with a 6-speed manual, 9-speed torque converter and 9-speed torque converter with 4-wheel-drive. Jeep India are yet to reveal the mileage figures of the Meridian, which we expect will be announced closer to the launch.
