The 2022 Hyundai Tucson was already a good-looking SUV. While the design changes on the Tucson facelift are minor, it elevates the SUV’s road presence further. Up front, it gets a new ‘Parametric Jewel’ grille with 4 LED daytime running lights on either side. The headlamps and the front bumper get minor changes as well and Hyundai have also given the SUV a new set of alloy wheels. Both the front and rear profiles of the SUV get a new skid plate as well.

On the inside, the Tucson facelift gets a revamped dashboard layout. The gear selector has moved from the centre console to a stalk on the steering column. The AC vents and steering wheel have been updated as well while the 12.3-inch driver’s display and touchscreen infotainment system are now integrated within a single housing for a more cohesive look. The centre console gets rotary dials for setting the AC temperature and fan blower speed while volume for the Bose sound system is controlled via a smaller knob with a knurled finish. Finally, there are physical buttons for toggling through different AC settings and capacitive buttons for other functions. Below the control panel, you’ll find USB Type-C ports, a 120V socket and a wireless charging pad, while there is a storage cubby and 2 cup holders just ahead of the front seat armrest.

While Hyundai are yet to reveal the full feature list of the Tucson facelift, we expect it to retain its current set of features, including the panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, ambient lighting, powered front seats, dual-zone climate control, air purifier, powered tailgate, 6 airbags, Level 2 ADAS features, ESP and hill hold assist, among other features.

As far as engine options are concerned, we expect the India-spec Tucson facelift to offer the current set of engines, which include a 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine paired with automatic transmissions. The 4-cylinder 2.0-litre normal petrol, which once powered the Alcazar, puts out 156PS of power and 192Nm of torque and comes exclusively with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 4-cylinder 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine produces 186PS and 416Nm and comes equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The top-end diesel variant of the current Tucson offers AWD with snow, mud and sand modes, and we expect the Hyundai Tucson facelift to retain these features as well.
