Hyundai Inster EV Teased – Tata Punch EV Rival To Debut In Late June | V3Cars

Hyundai have teased the Inster, a small electric SUV based on the Casper SUV sold in various international markets. The Inster EV is set to make its debut at the Busan International Mobility Show in South Korea at the end of June. Here’s what we know about it so far.

2024 Hyundai Inster EV Design Teased

The teaser images for the Inster EV shows an SUV which shares the same profile and design aspects as the Casper SUV. However, it gets a few differentiating features that set it apart from Hyundai’s ICE offerings and in line with Hyundai’s EVs like the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. Up front, the Inster features circular LED DRLs around the bumper-mounted headlamp. The LED DRLs, which double up as turn indicators, sit at the edge of the bonnet and get a pixel-like lighting signature. The teaser image also shows the charging port located on the front bumper.

Around the side, we expect the Inster to retain the Casper’s design replete with roof rails, blacked-out A-pillars, C-pillar-mounted rear door handles, and black lower cladding. Expect the Inster to offer EV-specific, aero-optimised alloy wheels as well. At the rear, the Inster gets LED tail lamps that feature the same pixel effect as seen in the Ioniq 5.

Hyundai are yet to tease the interior of the Inster EV. However, we expect it to remain largely the same as the Casper. So, expect the Inster EV to offer features like flat-folding front and rear seats that enhance the practicality of the SUV. We can also expect it to come with a lare floating touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple Carplay, a digital instrument cluster, cruise control, automatic climate control, drive modes, and keyless entry with push button start-stop.

Hyundai Inster EV – Will It Come To India?

Hyundai India are yet to confirm if the Inster EV will come to India. However, we expect the carmaker to utilise the same powertrain to electrify the similarly sized Exter B1-segment SUV. When launched, the Exter EV will rival the likes of the Tata Punch EV, Tiago EV, MG Comet, and the Citroen eC3. We expect it to get a price tag starting from Rs. 13.0 lakh (ex-showroom).
