Fourth-Gen Skoda Fabia Unveiled | V3Cars
Skoda has unveiled the fourth-gen Fabia. It gets a major redesign and is bigger in dimensions. Additionally, it’s more feature-equipped than before and gets new powertrain options.
The new Fabia carries forward the family design theme seen on the new Octavia and the Kushaq. Slim LED headlamps flank the signature wide butterfly grille wrapped in chrome. Fabia’s bumper looks sporty and gets a large central air dam between trapezoidal fog lamp housings.
The side profile is clean with a sharp character line running across the length. The window line moves upwards as it extends towards the rear. The Fabia will come with multiple wheel sizes ranging from 14-inch to 18-inch.
At the rear, Fabia gets LED tail lamps with design similarity to the units seen on the Kodiaq facelift and other modern Skoda cars.
Fabia’s interior also gets design inspiration from other modern-day Skoda cars. It gets a multi-layered dashboard, a bi-spoke steering wheel and a central console that gets a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system at the top of the central AC vents with AC controls sitting below them.
Features on offer in the overseas market include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ambient lighting, heated steering wheel, dual-zone AC and connected car tech.
The new Fabia is loaded in terms of safety as well. It gets up to 9 airbags, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection, lane assist, steering assist, traffic sign recognition and front assist with predictive pedestrian and cyclist protection.
Talking about the dimensions, the Fabia has grown over 4m in length. It is 4108mm long, 1780mm wide and 1459mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2564mm. The new Fabia is 111mm longer, 48mm wider but is lower by 8mm. The wheelbase has also grown by 94mm.

The new Fabia is based on the MQB A0 platform, which is the global version of the India-specific MQB A0 IN. Skoda has not officially confirmed introduction of the B2-segment hatchback for India. However, high localisation of its platform in India raises the hope that the Czech carmaker might eventually consider its launch in the subcontinent.
Meanwhile, Skoda is gearing up to launch the Kushaq SUV in India, which will be followed by other new cars like the new Octavia, Kodiaq facelift and a C-segment sedan by the end of 2021.
