Citroen C3X Crossover Sedan Spotted In Spain

The Citroen C3X crossover sedan was earlier spied testing on Indian roads and its images revealed a few noteworthy details. The model that was spied testing in Spain recently isn’t any different than the one spotted on our roads. However, Citroen have used a faux body panel behind the C-pillars to hide the C3X's USP - its tapering roofline. Apart from that, the rest of the design looks similar to that of the C3, featuring semi-X shaped LED DRLs and the signature chevron front grille.

However, since the product is in its early stages of development, it’s hard to comment on its overall styling just yet. The crossover sedan formula isn’t new to Citroen since the French carmaker already offers this unique bodystyle in European markets with products like the C4X and C5X.

Furthermore, the C3X is also likely to retain the same 1.2L turbo petrol engine that powers the C3 and C3 Aircross. In the C3 and C3 Aircross models, this petrol engine produces 110PS of power at 5500rpm and 190Nm of torque at 1750rpm. For now, this engine comes with just a 6-speed manual transmission. However, Citroen are reportedly working on an automatic transmission for the turbo petrol engine.

Currently, Citroen India are gearing up to launch the C3 Aircross in October 2023. The launch of the petrol-powered C3 Aircross will be followed by the all-electric C3 Aircross, which could be called the eC3 Aircross. Similarly, the C3X is also likely to spawn an all-electric derivative following the launch of the petrol-powered C3X in early 2024.
