Here’s Our Expected Price For The BYD Atto 3 Ahead Of Its Launch | V3Cars

BYD unveiled the Atto 3 last month and bookings for the electric SUV are currently open. The Chinese electric car manufacturer is set to launch the Atto 3 and reveal its ex-showroom price in November 2022.

2022 BYD Atto 3 Electric SUV Expected Price

The Atto 3 SUV will come in a single, fully loaded variant. We expect BYD to price the Atto 3 EV around the Rs. 26.0 lakh mark. Considering that the Atto 3 has more features and a bigger battery than its rivals, it may even cost a little bit more than Rs. 26 lakh. The reasons for our expected price are listed below.

Affordable But Not Cheap

Pricing can make or break a product. Offering a new car at a low price tag brings it within reach of more buyers. However, giving a new product, which in this case is a flagship electric SUV, a comparatively lower price tag than its rivals could dilute the brand, thus, making it less desirable.

The Atto 3’s main rival in the India EV market is the MG ZS EV, prices for which tops out at Rs. 25.88 lakh (ex-showroom). Pricing the Atto 3 lower than ZS EV could give the impression that BYD’s care aren’t as premium as MG’s while pricing it too high could make potential electric SUV buyers overlook the Atto 3 completely.

Since buyers are already aware of the ZS EV’s price tag, our expected price of Rs. 26 lakh for the Atto 3 seems like something that will make every ZS EV buyer at least consider the Atto 3.

Value Card

If BYD price the Atto 3 in the same range as the MG ZS EV, potential buyers may view the Atto 3 as a value-for-money product, especially considering the features it offers. The Atto 3 not only offers a bigger battery pack but also a few extra features, such as powered front seats and ADAS, over the ZS EV.

Home-made Blade Battery

Another reason for our Rs. 26 lakh expected price is the fact that BYD are using their own battery technology for the Atto 3. Since the blade-type battery of the Atto 3 is produced in-house, it could not only be cost-efficient but BYD could also save on royalties they would otherwise have to pay for using the technology from another brand. This is why we can expect them to provide us with a larger battery pack than the ZS EV without any substantial increase in the ex-showroom cost.

In terms of dimensions, the BYD Atto 3 is longer and wider than its rivals and it also has a longer wheelbase.

BYD Atto 3 Launch Date

BYD haven’t revealed the exact launch date of the Atto 3. However, they have stated that it’ll go on sale in November 2022. We expect BYD to reveal the prices of the Atto 3 electric car around mid-November.
