In this August 2022 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all SUVs in India. We’ll also share our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales, where applicable. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all SUVs for the last 6 months will give you an idea about their 6-month sales trend.

SUV Segment August 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change

Among the SUVs, the Maruti Brezza and Tata Nexon were the top 2 performers in July. They were followed by the Hyundai Creta and Tata Punch.
5 SUVs managed to enter the 5-figure club, which includes 2 cars from Tata (Nexon and Punch), two from Hyundai (Creta and the Venue) and 1 from Maruti (Brezza)
In terms of YoY change, excluding the low-volume SUV figures, the Scorpio posted a 170%+ improvement and was the top gainer
Among the notable top losers were the XUV300, Alcazar and Hector/Hector Plus twins, each posting a 26.26%, 33.56% and 41.48% decline in YoY numbers
Kia did not dispatch a single unit of the EV6 in August

SUV Segment August 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change

The Brezza was the top MoM gainer in August 2022 MoM, with an improvement of 245% over its July sales figures
Among the notable top MoM losers were the Urban Cruiser and Kushaq, recording an MoM decline of 41% and 37%, respectively
