Audi S5 Sportback Facelift

In terms of design, the facelifted S5 Sportback looks sharper than before. The front fascia consists of new LED headlamps with L-shaped DRLs flanking the wider front grille. The front bumper is also redesigned with larger more aggressively styled air dams. At the back, it features mildly updated LED taillamps and a refreshed rear bumper. That said, the side profile remains unchanged save for a set of new alloy wheels.

Step inside the cabin and the most noticeable change one would come by is the introduction of a new 10.1-inch MMI touchscreen infotainment system which replaces the non-touch unit of the pre-facelift model. Features on offer include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, three-zone AC, powered front seats and multiple airbags.

The 2021 S5 Sportback will be powered by a 3.0-litre V6 TFSI turbo petrol engine. It makes 359PS and 500Nm paired to an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Like the pre-facelift model, the updated S5 also gets Audi’s Quattro 4WD system.

Globally, the S5 Sportback also gets a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine producing 247PS and 700Nm paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission but it is not expected to make way to the India-spec model.

Audi will continue to offer the S5 Sportback in India as a CBU import model. As a result, expect it to be priced around Rs 75 lakh. It will take on the likes of the Mercedes-AMG C43 4MATIC and the recently launched BMW M340i sedan.
