In this April 2022 cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the segment-wise sales figures along with the YoY and MoM change for each carmaker in India. We’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales, where applicable.

Segment-Wise April 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change

In terms of YoY change, B2 segment was the biggest gainer posting a 30% YoY improvement
The B1 segment was the biggest loser with YoY sales shrinking almost 29%
Besides the B2 segment, the C segment also witnessed an YoY growth of 17.5%

Segment-Wise April 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change

Just like the manufacturer sales, almost all segments witnessed a MoM sales drop
B1 segment was the biggest loser with a 19.8% YoY drop followed by A and B2 segments posting a MoM change of -16.9% and -16.6%, respectively
D1 segment saw the MoM sales increase by 1.5%
