9 Features Kia Sonet Gets But Renault Kiger Doesn’t | V3Cars

The Kia Sonet is one of the best-selling B2-segment SUVs in the country. Ever since its launch, the Sonet has gained the tag of the most feature-rich sub-compact SUV in the country. The Renault Kiger, on the other hand, offers practicality and a sensible set of features at an affordable price.

Features Kia Sonet Gets Over Renault Kiger

In this article, we share the list of features that you get in the Kia Sonet over the Renault Kiger.

1. Curtain Airbags

While both the Sonet and Kiger get front and side thorax airbags, the Sonet offers curtain airbags in its top variant as well. It is worth noting that the Global NCAP awarded the Renault Kiger a 4-star rating while they are yet to test the Sonet.

2. Tyre Pressure Monitoring System

The top variants of the Kia Sonet come with a tyre pressure monitoring system. It tells the real-time tyre pressure of each tyre and also alerts the driver in case of an underinflated tyre or a puncture. This feature is sorely missed in the Kiger and we think every new car in this segment should have this safety feature.

3. Auto-Dimming IRVM

The Sonet comes with an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror whereas the Kiger gets a manually-adjustable day/night IRVM. Auto-dimming IRVM reduces glare while diving in the night without having to make any adjustments manually. Furthermore, the Sonet also incorporates SOS and telematics shortcuts on the IRVM.

4. Front Parking Sensors

The Sonet offers front parking sensors in its top variant. Front parking sensors help the driver position the car properly while parking in tight spots. The Kiger, on the other hand, only comes with rear parking sensors.

5. Subwoofer

The top variants of the Kia Sonet come with a subwoofer paired with a Bose sound system. The Kiger, on the other hand, gets an Arkamys-tuned sound system with 4 speakers and 4 tweeters but it lacks a subwoofer.

6. Automatic Headlights

The top variants of the Kia Sonet offer automatic headlights, which not only turn on the lights during night but also when you enter a tunnel or a dark space such as an underground car park. The Kiger, on the other hand, comes with LED headlights.

7. Sunroof

The Sonet comes with an electric sunroof from the mid variant onwards. The Kiger, on the other hand, doesn’t offer an electric sunroof even in the top variants.

8. Traction Control Modes

The Sonet comes with traction control with mud, sand and snow modes. These modes help tackle different terrains by altering the traction control intervention.

9. Paddle Shifters

Both the Sonet and Kiger come with automatic transmission options but it's the Sonet that also offers paddle shifters to the package.
