2025 Kia Syros — Expected Price Summary

Let’s go through the logic for each variant starting with understanding the petrol-manual powertrain trims.

Kia Syros 2025 Petrol-MT Expected Price

  • Syros HTK Price (Rs. 9.0 lakh): Since Kia are planning to offer the 1.0L turbo petrol for the first time 15-inch steel wheels, it appears that they want to achieve an aggressive starting price. Aggressive, not overall, but for the kit on offer since they are not offering the lower HTE variant.
  • Syros HTK (O) Price (Rs. 10.0 lakh): Since the HTK (O) petrol gets 15-inch steel wheels instead of 16-inch alloys, we believe that Kia intend to respect the Rs. 10.0 lakh psychological barrier with this trim. Later, they may add alloys to this trim and substantially breach the Rs. 10.0 lakh. This is exactly how they executed Sonet pricing when it went on sale in late 2020. Currently, wrt features, it has a perceived value of only about Rs. 65,000. So, at Rs. 1.0 lakh price gap, they have better profit margins.
  • Syros HTK Plus Price (Rs. 11.0 lakh): The HTK Plus variant adds about Rs. 1.90 lakh worth of features, although, most of it comes from features with high perceived value, such as sunroof. Since it doesn’t actually cost as much to offer a sunroof, we expect them to make this a well-priced variant with an overall price gap of Rs. 2.0 lakh from the base trim.
  • Syros HTX Price (Rs. 12.0 lakh): Finally, the most expensive Syros variant with the petrol-MT powertrain could cost Rs. 12.0 lakh. At this price, it maintains a good price gap over the lower trim but it doesn’t justify the upgrade over HTK Plus since it only offers Rs. 60-70,000 worth of features. So, it exists to push buyers towards upgrading to the higher trim with automatic transmission. Or, for the budget-constrained, the HTK Plus continues to offer a better value proposition.

Kia Syros 2025 Petrol-AT Expected Price

  • Syros HTK Plus Price (Rs. 12.20 lakh): If the HTK Plus petrol-MT is likely to cost Rs. 11.0 lakh, the HTK Plus could cost Rs. 1.20 lakh more. It is the most affordable petrol-automatic option. Its pricing will also help Kia position the Syros as an expensive car in its segment. Meanwhile, the automatic-only features help it more than justify the price gap over the manual. If the HTK Plus MT doesn’t get enough features to justify the Rs. 1.0 lakh price gap. So, the automatic should come across as an obvious choice.
  • Syros HTX Price (Rs. 13.20 lakh): With a Rs. 13.20 lakh ex-showroom price, the HTX continues to maintain a Rs. 1.20 lakh price delta over HTX petrol-MT. A Rs. 1.0 lakh price gap gives it some breathing room over the HTK Plus, although it is unlikely to come across as a VFM option. Thus, you are more likely to climb the price ladder and consider spending some more for the better equipped HTX Plus or HTX Plus (O).
  • Syros HTX Plus Plus Price (Rs. 14.20 lakh): This variant with the panoramic sunroof is likely to be very popular as it gets a superior perceived value. To rake in more cash, Kia are only offering it with the manual transmission. Meanwhile, the Rs. 1.0 lakh price gap across all variants makes them somewhat within reach but not too big of an expense like Skoda’s Kylaq.
  • Syros HTX Plus (O) Price (Rs. 15.20 lakh): Lastly, the HTX Plus (O) with the petrol-automatic at Rs. 15.20 lakh may come across as a somewhat affordable option considering that Kia are positioning the Syros as an upmarket car in the segment. But do note that there's no GT variant. So, there’s still room for going higher in the price band. In terms of value for money, the addition of the ADAS feature makes it a justifiable upgrade for buyers who want to future-proof their purchase.

Kia Syros 2025 Diesel-MT Expected Price

  • Syros HTK (O) Price (Rs. 11.0 lakh): Since the HTK (O) diesel gets larger tyres and 16-inch machined alloy wheels, it’s naturally going to cost a fair bit more than the other diesel variants. We expect it to cost about Rs. 1.0 lakh over the comparable petrol-manual.
  • Syros HTK Plus Price (Rs. 11.70 lakh): Since the HTK Plus petrol gets alloy wheels, which are already available in the diesel HTK (O), the petrol to diesel price gap here should shrink to just Rs. 70,000. Kia are also known for offering diesel engines for a nominal price premium over the turbo petrol. (Back in 2020, the Sonet HTX turbo petrol and turbo diesel carried identical asking price.)
  • Syros HTX Price (Rs. 12.70 lakh): The HTX is the most expensive diesel-MT variant and it’s likely to cost a similar Rs. 70,000 over the HTX petrol-MT.

Kia Syros 2025 Diesel-AT Expected Price

  • Syros HTX Plus Plus Price (Rs. 14.90 lakh): The diesel-automatic powertrain is only available in the Syros top 2 variants. With an assumption of Rs. 70,000 premium over the petrol-automatic variants, we can expect the HTX Plus diesel to cost Rs. 14.90 lakh. Thus, respecting the Rs. 15.0 lakh psychological barrier.
  • Syros HTX Plus (O) Price (Rs. 15.90 lakh): With the HTX Plus (O), breaching the price barrier and positioning it closer to Rs. 16.0 lakh will help Kia convey that the Syros is an expensive option. This will help create an aura of premiumness for the car. Here too, we expect the diesel-AT powertrain to cost Rs. 70,000 more than turbo petrol-AT.
