New Tata Curvv Reveal, Launch, Bookings And Delivery Timeline | V3Cars

In this article, we will attempt to estimate the potential launch, bookings and delivery timeline for the 2024 Tata Curvv EV, Curvv diesel and Curvv petrol by looking at the launch pattern of other Tata cars in the past year.

In the case of the Nexon facelift, Tata Motors teased the updated B2-segment SUV via images on their social media channels on September 1, 2023. 4 days later, Tata dealerships opened bookings for the SUV, and the launch event and price reveal took place 10 days later, on September 14, 2023.

One thing worth noting here is that the new Nexon images and some details were officially revealed on a Friday. Tata Motors prefer leaving the news in the air to brew over the weekend. This gives the potential buyers enough time to absorb all the details as they aren't busy working in their respective offices. The same pattern is visible in the Safari and Harrier facelift reveals as well, both of which were revealed on October 6, 2023 --- a Friday.

Hence, we expect Tata Motors to reveal the Curvv on July 5, 2024, the first Friday of July.

2024 Tata Curvv Bookings

Based on the bookings and launch pattern of the new Nexon 2023, we expect Tata Motors to open bookings for the Curvv SUV 3 days after they release the first set of teaser images and videos of the SUV. Hence, we could expect Tata Curvv bookings to open on July 8, 2024.

Tata Curvv Launch Date

As was the case with the Nexon facelift, we expect Tata to launch the Curvv 13 days after the official reveal of the SUV. Hence, it is possible that Tata could hold the launch event, reveal the variant list and announce the prices of the Curvv petrol, diesel and Curvv EV on July 18, 2024.

Tata Curvv Deliveries Timeline 

Based on Tata’s launch, bookings and deliveries pattern over the last year, we expect dealers to commence Curvv deliveries 5-7 days after the launch of the SUV. So, expect a tentative date of July 23, 2024 for deliveries of the Curvv to commence.

The Tata Curvv’s engine, transmission and electric powertrain specifications are yet to be revealed. However, reports suggest the Curvv diesel will feature the same 1.5-litre diesel engine as the 2024 Nexon. For the Curvv petrol, Tata could utilise their new 1.2L and 1.5L turbo petrol engine that were unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo. Tata Motors claim the smaller turbo petrol is capable of producing 123PS of power and 225Nm of torque while the bigger engine could have an output of 168PS and 280Nm. As for the Curvv EV, it will use Tata’s Gen-2 EV architecture and offer a range between 400 - 500km per charge. 

When launched, the Tata Curvv petrol and diesel will compete with C-segment SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, MG Astor and others. The Curvv EV will take on the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona EV. Meanwhile, Hyundai are currently developing a new C-segment electric SUV based on the Hyundai Creta to rival the Curvv EV.
