10 Features 2024 Tata Curvv Gets Over Tata Nexon | V3Cars

Tata Motors launched the 2024 Curvv coupe SUV at an introductory starting price of Rs. 10.0 lakh (ex-showroom) on September 2, 2024. While the Curvv sits in a segment above the Nexon and gets the option of a brand-new 1.2L turbo petrol engine, they do share Tata’s older 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engines.

2024 Tata Curvv Features Over Tata Nexon

In this article, we take a look at 10 features Tata Curvv 2024 offers over the Nexon.

1. Connected LED DRLs

While both the Tata Curvv and Nexon share a similar front fascia, the Curvv distinguishes itself from the Nexon with a connected LED DRL. While the Nexon petrol and diesel do not get this feature, it is available with the Nexon EV.

2. Flush Door Handles With Welcome Door Light

Compared to the Nexon, the Tata Curvv offers a sloping roofline. The coupe SUV is also longer overall and offers a 152mm longer wheelbase than Tata’s B2-segment SUV. Aside from these differences, the Curvv also offers flush door handles with welcome door light. Flush door handles were once a feature reserved for cars and SUVs belonging to the D1-segment and above, such as the Mahindra XUV700. However, thanks to the Curvv, this feature has now made its way to the more affordable C-segment as well.

Apart from offering a clean and minimalistic look, flush door handles also improve the aerodynamics of a car and are easier to clean as there are fewer crevices and corners for dirt to accumulate.

3. Larger 18-Inch Wheels

The Tata Curvv offers larger 18-inch alloy wheels from the Creative Plus S variant onwards. The larger alloy wheels fill up the wheel well better and offer better road presence. However, it is worth noting that larger alloy wheels increase the rotating mass, which in turn increases the effort required by the engine to move the car, leading to a decrease in fuel efficiency.

4. Panoramic Sunroof

Unlike the Tata Nexon, which offers a single-pane sunroof, the Tata Curvv offers a panoramic sunroof. Panoramic sunroofs add a touch of luxury and sophistication to a vehicle's design, making it more visually appealing. They also allow for ample natural light to enter the cabin, creating a brighter and more airy atmosphere. The panoramic sunroof feature is available in the Curvv’s Pure Plus S variant and above.

5. Larger 12.30-Inch Touchscreen Infotainment System

The top Accomplished Plus A variant of the Tata Curvv offers a larger 12.30-inch touchscreen infotainment system while the Nexon only offers a 10.25-inch touchscreen in its mid and top variants. The larger touchscreen provides more real estate for displaying information, making it easier to see and interact with various elements like maps, menus, and media controls.

6. Powered Driver’s Seat

The top 2 variants of the Tata Curvv also offer a 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, which is a feature that is missing in the Nexon. A powered driver seat allows for easy adjustment with the push of a button, eliminating the need for manual effort. They also offer a wider range of adjustment options, including lumbar support and seat depth, allowing drivers to find their ideal driving position. This can help reduce fatigue and discomfort during long drives.

7. Reclining Rear Seat

The top 2 variants of the Tata Curvv also offer reclining rear seats over the Nexon. Reclining rear seats allow passengers to adjust their seating position for greater comfort and relaxation during long journeys. This can help reduce fatigue and improve the overall travel experience. They can also provide additional legroom, especially for taller passengers or those who prefer a more stretched-out position.

8. Electronic Parking Brake With Auto-Hold

The top 2 variants of the Tata Curvv offer an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, which is a missing feature in the Nexon. An electronic parking brake eliminates the need for a mechanical handbrake lever, simplifying the parking process, while auto hold automatically engages the parking brake when the vehicle comes to a complete stop, preventing it from rolling backwards.

9. Powered Tailgate With Gesture Control

The top variant of the Tata Curvv, the Accomplished Plus A, offers a powered tailgate with gesture control. A powered tailgate eliminates the need for manual effort to open and close the rear hatch, making it easier to load and unload cargo. Gesture control adds an extra layer of convenience, allowing you to open or close the tailgate with a simple wave of your foot, which is handy when your hands are full.

10. ADAS

The top variant of the Tata Curvv also offers Level-2 ADAS. The Tata Nexon does not offer advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) of any kind in any of its variants. The Tata Curvv’s ADAS suite comprises of the following features:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control With Stop And Go (DCT only)
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Lane Keep Assist
  • Lane Change Alert
  • Adaptive Steering Assist
  • Forward Collision Warning
  • Autonomous Emergency Braking (vehicle, pedestrian, cycling, junction)
  • High Beam Assist
  • Traffic Sign Recognition
  • Over Speed Alert
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • Rear Collision Warning
  • Blind Spot Detection
  • Blind Spot View Monitor
  • 360-degree Surround View Camera
  • Door Open Alert on ORVM
