2024 Kia Sonet Facelift — Old Vs New — Most Detailed, Variant-Wise Feature Comparison | V3Cars
The 2024 Kia Sonet facelift is here. It’s time now to compare the new model with the old Sonet and see what changed. In this old vs new comparison, we’ll compare the variant-wise features, engine specs, dimensions and highlight the new features of the Sonet facelift. Let’s start with the engine and dimension comparison.
Dimension & Engine Specs Comparison - Old vs New Sonet
In terms of dimensions, there’s just one notable difference: slightly smaller boot space. The outgoing Sonet had 392 litres of cargo volume while the new one has 385 litres. That’s a nominal drop of 7 litres in boot space.
The ground clearance of the Sonet facelift is not specified yet but we expect it to remain in line with the old Sonet’s, which had 205mm clearance. All other dimensions of the 2024 Sonet remain identical to the old Sonet.
In terms of engine specs, the Sonet gets the same 5 powertrain options:
- 1.2L normal petrol with 5-speed manual transmission
- 1.0L turbo petrol with 6-speed auto-clutch manual transmission
- 1.0L turbo petrol with 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission
- 1.5L turbo diesel with 6-speed auto-clutch manual transmission
- 1.5L turbo diesel with 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission
The new Sonet also gets a turbo diesel engine with a 6-speed manual transmission (in addition to the 6-speed ACMT). So, the diesel engine gets 3 transmission options:
- 6-speed full manual
- 6-speed auto-clutch manual
- 6-speed torque converter automatic
Mileage figures are also not revealed but we expect them to remain similar to the old Sonet as well. The ARAI fuel efficiency figures of the old Sonet were as follows:
