2024 Jeep Compass 2WD Diesel Automatic Launched

Earlier, Jeep offered the Compass 2WD diesel variants with a 6-speed manual transmission while the 9-speed automatic transmission was reserved for the 4x4 variants. Now, however, Jeep are offering the Compass 2WD with a diesel-automatic powertrain, which has brought down the starting price of the Compass diesel automatic by Rs. 6.0 lakh. Prices for the Jeep Compass 2WD diesel automatic now start from Rs. 23.99 lakh (ex-showroom). 

Meanwhile, Jeep have also rejigged the variants of the Compass with a better segregation of features in the lower variants of the SUV. The updated 2024 Jeep Compass is now available in a total of 5 variants – Sport, Longitude/Logitude Plus, Limited, BlackShark and Model S. The new BlackShark Edition has replaced the Compass Night Eagle edition and you can read more about it below.

Jeep Compass BlackShark Edition Cosmetic Changes

To create a visual distinction over the outgoing model, Jeep have offered a few cosmetic updates with the 2024 Compass. These design changes include a new 7-slat grille that now incorporates a mesh finish and a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels. Furthermore, the new BlackShark Edition also offers gloss black colour for the grille, lower fascia, cladding and alloy wheels. It also offers an all-black interior with red inserts. 

2024 Jeep Compass Powertrain Specifications

Since the Compass is no longer available with the 1.4L turbo petrol, customers on;y get the option of a 2.0L turbo diesel engine. This turbo diesel engine offers 170PS of power at 3750rpm and 350Nm of torque between 1750rpm and 2500rpm. The engine continues can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed torque converter automatic and now the latter can be specced with both 2WD and 4WD drivetrain options.

Jeep Compass Variants, Prices And Colour options

As mentioned above, Jeep India now offer the Compass in 5 variants. The diesel manual range starts from Rs. 20.39 lakh while the diesel automatic now starts from Rs. 24.0 lakh ex-showroom. The lower starting price of the 2024 Jeeo Compass should help it compete with the higher variants of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos facelift and the Citroen C3 Aircross. The higher variants of the Compass, meanwhile, continue to rival the likes of the Tata Harrier and Safari and the Hyundai Alcazar. Jeep India are yet to share the complete price list of all 2024 Jeep Compass variants.
