2023 Ford Mustang Revealed — Retains V8 Engine | V3Cars
Ford have unveiled the 2023 Mustang and we’re glad to report that it retains its iconic V8 petrol engine. While the new Mustang is based on the same platform as its predecessor, it gets a sharper design with a more aggressive front and rear profile than ever before. The 2.3-cylinder Ecoboost turbo petrol engine and the 5.0L Coyote V8 normal petrol engine are claimed to offer more power than before.
The 7th-generation Ford Mustang takes design cues from the original ‘60’s Mustang and incorporates them with a chiseled design. The front seems wider than before thanks to the flatter nose and larger grille. The LED headlights now get three separate bulbs with top-mounted LED DRLs. Around the back, the new Mustang gets a tight-lipped design along with new LED tail lights. The tail light design harks back to the classic Mustang signature.

On the inside, the 2023 Ford Mustang gets a new dashboard design with twin connected screens. The 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster comes with customisable dials with impressive animations. The instrument cluster is concealed in a curved glass that also incorporates the 13.2-inch infotainment system. It gets B&O sound system along with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
As for the powertrain options, the 2023 Mustang gets a 5.0L V8 petrol engine and a 2.3L turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine. The V8 engine continues to come with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 10-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The 2.3L engine, on the other hand, is only offered with the 10-speed automatic. While their power and torque figures haven’t been revealed yet; Ford claim that both engines are more powerful than before.

Will The Mustang Make A Return To India
The Ford Mustang was one of the most-successful sports cars in India. When Ford announced their India exit, they revealed that the Blue Oval will consider offering niche products, such as the Mustang Mach-e electric SUV, from its global lineup in India. While the new Ford Mustang will go on sale in the US and other global markets next year, there’s no word on its launch in India yet. For now, we can only hope that it lands on our shores and reignites the budget sports car segment in the country.
