2023 BMW X5M And X6M Design Updates

Both the X5M and X6M receive a couple of design updates with the facelift. Up front, both SUVs now get a bigger, all-black kidney grille, which is flanked by LED headlights. The LED headlights now incorporate a new LED signature and look slimmer than before. At the rear, both SUVs also get updated LED tail lights with revised light signatures. Both SUVs also get new rear diffusers.

2023 BMW X5M And X6M Interior Updates

The biggest change on the inside of both the X5M and X6M is the curved glass on the dashboard that houses twin connected screens. The 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system runs the latest BMW OS and supports both wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The 12.3-inch digital driver’s display now offers new visual modes with improved customisation options. Being the M models, both SUVs get an M steering wheel with configurable M1 and M2 modes.

2023 BMW X5M And X6M Powertrain Details

At the heart of the X5M and X6M remains the same 4.4L twin-turbocharged petrol V8 as before. It produces 625PS of power at 6000rpm and 750Nm of torque between 1800rpm and 5800rpm. The engine comes mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission and 4-wheel-drive. With the update, BMW have added an electric motor that sits between the transmission and engine and it offers up to 12PS of power and 200Nm of torque as and when needed. This electric motor takes power from a 48V battery, which gets charged by brake energy recuperation.

2023 BMW X5M And X6M India Launch Details

BMW India are likely to bring the updated X5M to our shores in late 2023. The X6M, on the other hand, is unlikely to go on sale in the Indian market. The X5M rivals other SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz GLE 63 AMG and Jaguar F-Pace SVR. Before the launch of the X5M, BMW are likely to launch the X5 facelift in India.
