2022 Citroen C5 AIrcross Exterior Changes

The updated C5 Aircross’ front and rear profiles get a nip and tuck. At the front, the LED headlights are now a lot sharper and get twin-beam LED DRLs. The LED DRLs merge seamlessly with Citroen’s signature grille, which now gets a new pattern. The lower bumper also gets a design overhaul with vertical air dams. At the side, the new C5 Aircross gets a new set of alloy wheels whereas the rear features updated LED tail lights.

2022 Citroen C5 Aircross Interior Changes

The 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross cabin feels a lot fresher than the outgoing model. It now gets a 10-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch full-color LCD driver display. The AC vents now sit below the touchscreen and ditch the cubicle design. Citroen have replaced conventional buttons on the centre console with capacitive controls. In addition to that, the C5 facelift features an e-toggle gear selector instead of the older gear selector.

2022 Citroen C5 Aircross Engine And Gearbox

The new C5 Aircross is likely to come with the same 2.0L turbo diesel engine as before. Currently, this engine produces 177PS of power at 3750rpm and 400Nm of torque at 2000rpm. The engine is paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Globally, Citroen offer the C5 Aircross with turbo petrol and plug-in-hybrid powertrain options as well. However, these options are not likely to come to India.

2022 Citroen C5 Aircross Rivals, Price And Launch Timeline

The Citroen C5 Aircross rivals other premium compact SUVs like the Jeep Compass, Volkswagen Tiguan and the upcoming Hyundai Tucson. As Citroen will bring the updated C5 Aircross via the SKD route (semi knocked-out), we expect its pricing to hover in the range of Rs. 30 lakh to Rs. 35 lakh ex-showroom. While Citroen are likely to launch the C5 Aircross in September 2022, Hyundai have confirmed their plans to launch the 2022 Tucson in late 2022.
