Depending on the variant, you’ll have to cover 76,991 to 82,914 km with the Tata Nexon diesel manual to recover the extra price you pay upfront over the Nexon petrol.

Should You Buy Tata Nexon Petrol Or Diesel?
The Nexon diesel costs between Rs. 80,000 and Rs. 1.40 lakh more than the corresponding petrol variant, which is shockingly high considering that the petrol engine also gets a turbocharger. So, they both offer good drivability. Still, considering the current price differences between the Nexon petrol-diesel and the fuel prices, the Nexon diesel-manual only makes sense if you intend to drive the car for more than 77,000km to 83,000km, depending on the variant you buy.
For the automatic buyers, the Nexon diesel is worth buying only if you plan to drive the car for around 42,,000km. The diesel-automatic’s lower km-to-breakeven is not because it is more affordable or more fuel efficient than the manual. This is because the petrol-automatic is a bit less fuel efficient.

Is the Periodic Service cost difference, if any, taken into account?
I bought petrol version of Nexon two months back. It is having lot software issues. Many times engine will not start. I had though time. Service provider said they updated the software. But I lost confidence and totally disappointed with Nexon.
I drove diesel nexon for 112000 km in 4.5 years.. it was newly launched when I bought it.. Trust me.. it worth it.. Drive it under 85 kmph and u will surprise to see the mileage.. There was downside in the beginning , there was noise from suspension… but gradually the mechanic learnt how to fix it and it’s rolling high since then… The service barge doesn’t come above 4000, mostly .. I can write and write .. but let’s stop :)
Is the petrol motor of nexon reliable??? Was considering sonet HTK+ turbo petrol But there's slight dilemma about nexon petrol
The comparison seems wrong as the fuel efficiency of the petrol is very different in the real world conditions. I drive an altroz petrol and the average efficiency i get is 13kmpl. Sometimes less also. So if your running is on a higher side please consider buying the diesel.
Comparison may be better. Author should consider the emi for differential amount, resale value etc for comparison

Nexon petrol or diesel which is the best with calculation. My average use: 70km/day Difference between both: 2,00,000/-
I have recently buy nexon facelift diesel variant . It is fabulous. It is providing me 24 kmpl average . Also it's comfort to drive is awesome. I have observed one minor problem some times while braking in off roading seems difficult. One should press the break padel for 3-4 times like to make pressure by padel Otherwise 800km a day without any stress goes on .
