Jeep Compass Vs MG Astor Dimension Comparison

The Jeep Compass and the MG Astor are both SUVs. The Compass is 4405mm long, 1818mm wide and 1640mm tall. The Compass’s wheelbase is 2636mm long. The Astor measures 4323mm long, 1809mm wide and 1650mm tall and has a wheelbase measuring 2585mm. In terms of dimensions, the Jeep Compass is slightly larger than the MG Astor. So, the Compass will offer a stronger road presence than the Astor.

The Compass has a ground clearance of 178mm while the Astor has a ground clearance of 180mm. The 438-litre boot space of the Compass is 10 litres smaller than that of the Astor.

The MG Astor is available with 2 petrol engines - a 1.5L normal petrol and a 1.4L turbo petrol engine. The 1.5L normal petrol engine gets a 5-speed manual while the 1.4L turbo petrol engine is available with a  manual transmission.

The 1.5L normal petrol engine of the Astor makes 110PS of power at 6000rpm and 144Nm of torque at 4400rpm. The 1.4L turbo petrol engine in the MG Astor pushes out 140PS of power at 5600rpm and 220Nm of torque at 3600rpm.

The Jeep Compass only gets a 2.0L turbo diesel engine, which is available with a 6-speed manual and 9-speed automatic automatic transmission. The Compass’s turbo diesel engine makes 170PS of power at 3750rpm and 350Nm of torque between 1750 and 2500rpm.

MG Astor is not available with a diesel engine option.
