6 Features New Tata Altroz Racer Base Variant Offers Over Hyundai i20 N Line Base Variant

Here’s a list of features that are available in the base R1 variant of the 2024 Altroz Racer but not available in the base N6 variant of the 2024 i20 N Line:

1. 10.25-inch Touchscreen

The Altroz Racer 2024 offers a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system right from the base variant while the i20 N Line only offers this feature in the top N8 variant. The N6 variant of the i20 offers a smaller 8.0-inch touchscreen.

Interestingly, while the Altroz Racer’s 10.25-inch touchscreen offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, the Hyundai’s 10.25-inch touchscreen doesn’t. However, these convenience-enhancing features are available in the i20 N Line’s N6 variant with the smaller touchscreen. 

2. Push Button Start-Stop

Another feature available in the Altroz Racer R1 base variant but not available in the i20 N Line N6  base variant is push button start-stop. 3. LED DRLs

While LED DRLs are standard in the Altroz Racer, the base N6 variant of the i20 N Line does not get this feature. Brighter than parking lights, LED DRLs are designed to stay on during the day, making your car more noticeable to other drivers on the road. 4. Projector Headlamps

Another good-to-have feature the Tata Altroz Racer offers from its R1 base variant is projector headlamps. Projector headlamps have a lens to focus the light beam straight ahead onto the road, helping illuminate potholes and other obstacles. In comparison, the i20 N Line offers halogen reflector headlamps in the base variant.

5. Rear Wiper With Washer

Tata offer a rear wiper with washer from the R1 base variant of the Tata Altroz. Hyundai, however, only offer this feature in the N8 variant of the i20 N Line. A rear wiper with washer is a handy feature to have in the rain as you can use the rear wiper to get a clearer view of the traffic behind you. If the rear windshield has some dirt on it, then the washer feature helps you clean it up with a water jet.

6. Sliding Front Armrest

The Tata Altroz Racer offers a sliding front armrest as standard while the N6 base variant of the i20 N Line does not get this feature. Instead, it offers fixed front armrest. A sliding armrest offers adjustable support for the forearm by allowing it to slide forward and back.

8-Speaker Sound System Vs. 6-Speaker Sound System

The Tata Altroz Racer offers an 8-speaker sound system as standard. It comprises 4 speakers and 4 tweeters as standard. In comparison, the N6 variant of the Hyundai offers a 6-speaker system that comprises front and rear speakers and front tweeters only.

2024 Tata Altroz Racer Vs Hyundai i20 N Line Spec and Price Comparison

The Altroz Racer features the Nexon’s 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine. Compared to the standard Altroz turbo petrol, the Altroz Racer puts out 10PS more power and 30Nm more torque. Now, let’s compare how the Tata Altroz Racer stacks up against its primary rival, the Hyundai i20 N Line:

The Tata Altroz Racer and Hyundai i20 N Line produce near identical power and torque outputs. The Altroz Racer is only available with a 6-speed manual gearbox at launch. It remains to be seen if Tata offer the Altroz Racer with a dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) at a later stage.

We selected the N6 dual-tone variant of the i20 N Line for a fair comparison as the Altroz Racer offers dual-tone exterior colours as standard in all variants. The Altroz Racer R1 variant is Rs. 70,400 more affordable than the 2024 i20 N Line N6 dual-tone variant.
