What Are The Pros And Cons Of The 2024 Tata Curvv EV?
The pros or advantages of Tata Curvv EV 2024 are:
- Stylish design with imposing road presence from the coupe roofline
- Well-loaded with features like powered tailgate, full ADAS suite, front seat ventilation, front passenger seat height adjustment, panoramic sunroof, 9-speaker JBL sound system, 360-degree camera, front parking sensors and blind spot monitoring safety (radar + camera-based)
- Surprisingly good pricing, considering that Tata have the habit of overpricing their cars
- Best-in-class boot space of 500 litres
The 2024 Tata Curvv EV has the following shortcomings or problems:
- Like most Tata cars, the Curvv EV also has strange feature distribution:
- Rear armrest is only available in Empowered Plus. Even the Accomplished Plus S variant, which gets a panoramic sunroof and 17-inch alloy wheels doesn’t get this feature while the Dzire offers it in the mid and top variants
- Same goes for split-folding rear seatbacks
- Basic features like TPMS, front armrest aren’t available in the Curvv EV base model, which the much cheaper Sonet base model offers
- Missing features like rear window curtains, 2-zone auto AC and head-up display aren’t available even in the top variant of the Curvv
- It offers 30% lower real-world range compared to the ARAI numbers while the MG ZS manages to fully deliver on the ARAI range in the real-world driving
- Torque output is the lowest in the segment and similar to that of the Nexon EV; possibly because it uses the same motor
- Potentially weaker long-term reliability as Tata are still fairly new to the EV game; MG and BYD have tremendous experience in EV powertrains and battery management because of greater subsidisation of new-energy vehicles in China and its resulting boom
- Insanely high maintenance costs for a car, which is suppose to provide lower maintenance costs; the Maruti Vitara’s average per kilometre official service cost for 10yr/1,00,000km is 38 paise while the Nexon EV’s cost is 75 paise
- 6-month service interval is just too short especially for a car, which doesn’t need oil and filter changes (oil filter, air filter, fuel filter)

What Is The Price Of Tata Curvv EV Variants?
The Tata Curvv EV is available in 5 variants — Creative, Accomplished, Accomplished Plus S, Empowered Plus and Empowered Plus A. It gets 2 battery options:
- 45kWh: This battery pack option is only available with the lower Creative, Accomplished and Accomplished Plus S variants. The 45kW battery pack costs between Rs. 17.49 lakh and Rs. 19.29 lakh.
- 55kWh: The prices of the 55kWh battery pack start from Rs. 19.25 lakh and go up to Rs. 21.99 lakh. Except for the base Creative variant, this powertrain option is available in all variants. The 55kWh battery pack option costs up to Rs. 76,000 more than the comparable 45kWh battery pack.
Regardless of which battery option you get, the power and torque output remains the same. All variants are compatible with CCS2 port for DC fast charging with speeds of up to 70kW. They also get a Type-2 AC charger, which can recharge the car at speeds of up to 7.2kW.

- Wireless smartphone connectivity
- Larger touchscreen
- Rear defogger
- Front parking sensors
- Split-folding rear seatbacks
- Rear armrest
- Rear window sunshades
Considering the ex-showroom price of this Curvv base model, it doesn’t get several must-have features. Moreover, the higher Accomplished variant offers better value for money and covers most of the shortcomings of the Curvv Creative 45. So, we do not recommend buying the Curvv EV base model.
2024 Tata Curvv EV Creative vs Accomplished Variant - Price, Feature Comparison
The Accomplished variant onwards, you also have the option of buying the Curvv EV with the larger 55kWh battery pack. The Curvv EV Accomplished variant costs Rs. 18.49 lakh with smaller 45kWh battery pack, which is Rs. 1.0 lakh more than the base trim. If you want the larger 55kWh battery pack option, then you’ll have to pay another Rs. 76,000.

- Wireless phone charger
- Sunroof (any size)
- Dual-zone AC
- Rear window sunshades
Among the 45kWh and 55kWh options, you can pick one based on your driving preferences. It’s worth noting that the 55kWh variants are well priced over the comparable 45kWh options. So, the upgrade is easily justifiable.
In terms of features and value, the Accomplished 45 and 55 are both good options. Although, the upgrade to higher Accomplished Plus S 45 or 55 is highly recommended. They offer far superior value and ownership experience with the inclusion of panoramic sunroof and other features.
Tata Curvv EV Accomplished vs Accomplished Plus S Variant - Price, Feature Comparison
With the Accomplished Plus S variant, you will get the same battery-range combinations as the lower Accomplished variant. The Curvv EV Accomplished Plus S 45 variant costs Rs. 19.29 lakh with the smaller battery pack and Rs. 19.99 lakh with the larger battery pack. This variant is Rs. 80,000 pricier than the Accomplished 45. While the Accomplished Plus S 55 variant with larger battery pack costs another Rs. 70,000 over the Accomplished Plus S 45.

- Full ADAS suite
- 2-zone AC
- Rear window sunshades
If you’re only interested in the Curvv EV 45, then the Accomplished Plus S is our top recommendation. Moreover, the price jump to the Curvv 55 is also fairly small for the longer range. So, if you can, we’ll strongly recommend you buy the Curvv Accomplished Plus S 55, which is our overall top recommendation for all Curvv EV buyers.
Tata Curvv Accomplished Plus S vs Empowered Plus Variant - Price, Feature Comparison
The higher Empowered Plus variant of the Curvv EV only gets the 55kWh battery-range combination. The Empowered Plus 55 is priced at Rs. 21.25 lakh, which is Rs. 1.26 lakh more expensive than the Accomplished Plus S 55.

In the Empowered Plus variant, you may miss feature like:
- 2-zone AC
- Rear window sunshades
- Full ADAS suite
- Head-up display
The Empowered Plus is only available with the 55kWh battery pack. In terms of value, it is alright but the higher Empowered Plus A and the Accomplished Plus S, both offer far superior value for money. So, we don’t recommend buying the Empowered Plus 55 variant of the Curvv EV. The only reason that warrants buying this variant is if you absolutely don’t want the ADAS features in your car but still want upmarket features like power driver seat and ventilation.
Tata Curvv Empowered Plus vs Empowered Plus A Variant - Price, Feature Comparison
The Empowered Plus A top model of the Tata Curvv EV only gets the larger battery with longer range combination like the lower Empowered Plus trim. The Curvv EV’s Empowered Plus A 55 variant costs Rs. 21.99 lakh, which is Rs. 74,000 costlier than the lower Empowered Plus 55 variant.

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
In the Curvv EV top model, you may miss the following features:
- 2-zone AC
- Rear window sunshades
- Head-up display
The Curvv EV top model is also worth buying as it offers fantastic value for money over the Curvv base model for all the additional features and longer range.
Which Variant Of The Tata Curvv EV Should You Buy?
Among the Curvv EV 45 and 55 variants, the 55 is totally worth buying as the price premium for the longer range is easily justifiable. However, if you still want to buy one of the Curvv 45 variants, then the Accomplished Plus S is our top recommendation. While the mid variant is worth considering, the base is not recommended at all.
If you are convinced to buy one of the Curvv EV 55 for its longer range, then the Accomplished Plus S is an easy recommendation regardless of your range preference. Accomplished 55 and Empowered Plus 55 are both good options. But the upgrade to Accomplished Plus 55 and Curvv EV top model is so lucrative that you're better off skipping the lower trim options.

What Are The Engine Specifications Of The Tata Curvv EV?
In terms of specifications, the Curvv EV offers 2 battery configurations — 45kWh and 55kWh. The 45kWh has an ARAI range of 502km while the 55kWh offers 585km of range. There is no difference between the 45kWh and 55kWh when it comes to power output as both the battery options offer 150Nm of torque.
It’s worth mentioning that Tata’s EVs don’t even come close to the claimed range. During the launch of Curvv EV, Tata conveyed that EV buyers should expect the real range to be 30% lower than the claimed ARAI range.
