Mahindra have launched the XUV 3XO CNG, officially called the XUV 3XO ZNG, with prices ranging from Rs. 9.99 lakh to Rs. 12.27 lakh. The factory-fitted CNG SUV is available in 4 variants and gets a 1.2L turbo engine producing 112PS and 200Nm in both petrol and CNG modes. It also offers a claimed CNG mileage of 24.7kmpkg.

The XUV 3XO CNG is available in MX Edge, RevX Edge (O), AX5 and RevX A variants. Except for the new MX Edge, the other CNG variants have similarly named petrol-manual variants in the existing XUV 3XO range.
Take a look at the XUV 3XO CNG prices compared with the corresponding petrol and diesel variants:
The XUV 3XO CNG costs between Rs. 89,100 and Rs. 99,500 more than the similarly named petrol-manual variants.
Meanwhile, the RevX Edge (O) and AX5 CNG are cheaper than their corresponding diesel-manual variants by Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 20,500, respectively.
The RevX A comparison needs some context. The RevX A petrol uses Mahindra’s more powerful 131PS 1.2L turbo petrol engine with direct injection, while the RevX A CNG uses the 112PS turbo petrol-CNG engine. Hence, these 2 variants are comparable on equipment and positioning, but not engine output.
The XUV 3XO CNG uses a 1.2L turbo petrol-CNG engine with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Unlike most CNG cars, Mahindra claim there is no reduction in peak power or torque in CNG mode. The engine produces 112PS at 5000rpm and 200Nm between 1500rpm and 3500rpm on both fuels.
Mahindra say revised turbocharger calibration and engine management allow the engine to deliver identical peak outputs in petrol and CNG modes.
Based on the claimed mileage figures and current New Delhi fuel prices, the XUV 3XO CNG costs around Rs. 3.52 per kilometre to run. That is about Rs. 1.89/km less than the turbo-petrol MT and Rs. 1.10/km less than the turbo-diesel MT.

The XUV 3XO CNG uses a 10-bar CNG injection system, which Mahindra claim is a segment-first. The higher injection pressure allows the system to supply CNG more quickly and precisely, helping the engine retain its full 112PS and 200Nm output even in CNG mode while also delivering a claimed 24.7kmpkg.

Mahindra have positioned the 2 CNG cylinders, with a combined capacity of 60L water equivalent, underneath the luggage area. This gives the XUV 3XO CNG a flat luggage floor and 270L of usable boot space. The spare wheel remains mounted underneath the vehicle.
The regular XUV 3XO offers 364L of boot space. Hence, choosing the factory CNG option reduces the claimed luggage capacity by 94L.

Mahindra have also retuned the XUV 3XO’s suspension for the CNG version to maintain the regular XUV 3XO’s ride and handling characteristics despite the additional rear-end weight
It continues to use MacPherson strut front suspension and a twist-beam rear suspension. However, Mahindra have revised the tuning of the dampers, springs and anti-roll bar to account for the additional weight of the CNG system.
Drivers can switch between petrol and CNG modes, while the vehicle automatically switches to petrol when the CNG supply runs low.
The instrument cluster also provides average and instantaneous fuel-efficiency information. Mahindra have fitted a fast-filling CNG valve to reduce refuelling time.

The MX Edge is the base XUV 3XO CNG variant.
The RevX Edge (O) and AX5 both add different sets of features over the MX Edge, while the RevX A builds on the AX5. So, the RevX Edge (O) and AX5 should not be viewed as a simple linear feature progression despite their prices.
Take a look at the important features available with each XUV 3XO CNG variant:
The MX Edge also gets features such as engine start-stop, steering modes, electrically adjustable outside mirrors, front and rear power windows, rear USB-C charging and reverse parking sensors.

All XUV 3XO CNG variants get 6 airbags, electronic stability control and ISOFIX child-seat mounts as standard.
Other standard safety features include:
The CNG system also gets integrated gas-leak detection. If the system detects a CNG leak, it automatically switches the engine to petrol mode.

The regular XUV 3XO has secured a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating for both adult and child occupant protection. Mahindra say the CNG version uses the same underlying vehicle architecture.
While Mahindra have not announced a separate Bharat NCAP result for the XUV 3XO CNG, they demonstrated the CNG cylinder installation after crash testing during the launch presentation.

Test drives for the XUV 3XO CNG begin today, October 15, 2026.
Bookings will open on October 20, 2026 through Mahindra dealerships and the company’s website. Deliveries are also scheduled to begin from October 20.

The Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG primarily rivals CNG SUVs such as the Tata Nexon CNG and Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG.
Take a look at how the XUV 3XO CNG compares with its 2 main factory-fitted CNG SUV rivals:
The XUV 3XO CNG offers the most power and torque of the 3 SUVs, while the Brezza CNG has the highest claimed mileage and the largest boot. The Nexon CNG sits between the 2 for performance while offering 51L more boot space than the XUV 3XO CNG.
